Drug trafficking charges have been raised against a French and a British
woman after authorities allegedly found 20 kilograms of cocaine in their
luggage.
The women were arrested on Monday (17 April) at Tom Jobim International
Airport in Brazil as they tried to board a flight bound for Paris, France.
According to The Associated Press, police said that authorities using
baggage X-ray machines detected the cocaine wrapped in grease-lined packages
inside false bottoms in the women's luggage.
Both women face up to 20 years in jail if convicted in Brazil.
